"Real Lioness" power come fi yu and yu and yu…

After some many months of work and many different paths - from version over version over version… - this unique outernational collaboration finally bears its fruits and is ready fi one and all…
A heavy stepping riddim by Massive Dub Corporation (MDC) from Bourges, France, was given to Queen Omega from Port of Spain, Trinidad, for voicing. What came out is a chant full of energy inna conscious anthem style.
Inspired by the name of the label, the "Real Lioness" stepped into the recording booth to unleash her fyah and let everybody know about the ancient story and concept of the Lion's Den - not having lost any truth since then, relevant as ever in those modern days in babylon society. About always moving forward, despite the daily struggle, daily strive and fight, across any kind of barrier - believing in one's own mission, having faith and strength to spread a positive message. Queen Omega chants with strong dedication and will to fight for a better place.
Her vocal inspired MDC to rework the riddim as a live band and with live instrumentation and give it a little more rootsy touch. This version was then given to the dub and fx mastermind Anti-Bypass from Lyon, France, to take it into his 25th Toy Studio laboratory and run it through a crazy universe of custom modified machines in order to come up with a series of heavily dubbed out wet mixes, full of lovely effects and a lot of 'anti-bypass'.
But the journey didn't stop there and MDC went back on a ruff sound system style re-remix of their own tune to make you rock and skank…

So better drop the needle and let the disc take you on a journey… from Germany to France to Trinidad and beyond...

Both sides were transferred to 1/2inch Tape for extra analogue warmth, mastered with care and pressed on high quality 180g vinyl by Star Delta / Delta Disc, UK - of course also digikally available.

===== [about the artists] =====

Massive Dub Corporation [Bourges / FR]
https://soundcloud.com/massive-dub-corporation

Massive Dub Corporation or MDC consists of four multi-instrumentalist dub activists with one common idea, exploring dub and its borders (if there are any). With this young band born in Bourges in early 2010 - the project started both in the studio and on stage - navigating between CAM and instrumental music, everything is in balance: synthetic rhythm and acoustic phrasing are mixed perfectly. Sounds pass through various environments, from the “french dub” to things more roots, or stepper oriented and dedicated to the sound systems. Their two first albums on ODGprod - "Conception" and "Time For The Bus", rich &  multi-faceted dub EPs - and many powerful gigs all over France, sharing stages with people like Zion Train, Stand High Patrol, and many more, only give a hint about what will come about in the future. The dub machines and instruments already run hot on new material...

On the controls you find: bass (Bruno) / keys, composing and added vocals to the mix (Antoine) / guitar, composing (Thomas) / trombone (Julien) / saxophone (Benoit).

"Mix all our universe and you get Massive Dub Corporation."

Queen Omega [Port Of Spain / TT]
https://soundcloud.com/queenomega

Queen Omega hails from San Fernando in Trinidad. Encouraged by her mother, she began entering local talent shows from the age of nine, writing her own calypsos and even rapping on national television.

Later on she sang backing vocals for local producer Kenny Philips, accompanying numerous top soca acts both in the studio and on stage. Raised in a musical family, she grew up listening to soul, as well as jazz and the traditional music of Trinidad. Such foundations were to serve her well later on; her favourites however, were reggae & dancehall.

Inspired by the teachings of Emperor Haile Selassie I, her song writing skills soon blossomed, with roots and reality themes coming to the fore as her love of Rastafari deepened. It was on a trip to Jamaica with the Solomon Band where she performed at the Caribbean Music Expo in late 2000 that she met producer Mickey D, who brought her to London the following year for sessions that resulted in her debut set, "Queen Omega". This was followed by several hit singles and more outstanding albums to come.

Since then Queen Omega blazed a trail for female roots reggae artists. With her five albums and many well received live performances - as her great voice and very strong lyrics always amaze with pure power and message - she is hard working as a worldwide "reggae ambassador". She also received the much deserved Merlin Lynn Taitt Award for Music in 2012.

Queen Omega continues to tour the Caribbean, Europe and the rest of the world - setting each stage on fire - no matter if at a large scale reggae festival or a small club or sound system show.

Anti-Bypass [Lyon / FR]
https://soundcloud.com/anti-bypass

"To those that don't know all the tech-know about Dub Studio works: "Bypass" is a mode on an effect device which basically disables that particular effect. Yes, sometimes that is necessary although it seems to be a little bit different in Anti-Bypass' studio. An 8 tracks live act in the King Tubby's tradition from the 70s: From the recording to the mixing techniques, building and making modifications to his own gear, Anti-Bypass delivers pure homemade roots-dub music for all lovers of old Jamaican studio's sound, splashing spring reverbs and ruff echoes.
All the tracks are mixed strictly one shot on the console using hardware analog effects, no computer automations, mutes or fx plugs… in studio as in live act...
Peace & Dub…"

P.S.: Anti-Bypass is also part of the great Dub Addict Sound System.

Queen Omega - Real Lioness
"when the wicked came against we to eat up my flesh
they stumble and dem fall
they stumble and dem fell
I'm in the Lion's Den
Queen Omega a in the Lion's Den
well mi still bringing the fire again

the battle is not for the swift
but for the ones who endure
to enter in zion gates yur hands and yur hearts must be pure
and throughout all the changing scenes of life
I'm thankful to the father that I have survived

babylon set up dem trap
and a wait to see mi fall
I'm executing righteousness overall
hold a meditation, chant a psalm, say a prayer
that's the key before mi touch down road fi cut and clear

inna the Lion's Den
I'm in the Lion's Den
still I am not afraid
because they are my friends
real lioness inna the pride, I am the queen, I set the trend
protecting all the likkle children
inna the Lion's Den
babylon dem try pretend
dem never know this rasta woman come fi give dem problem
if yu no love Jah and wickedness yu a defend
mi a go blaze up the fire again

babylon set up dem trap
dem want to see mi stumble
all because I woman cool and humble
though on horse and camp against mi my heart shall not fear
my confidence in Jah shall take mi anywhere I go
the father is with mi
daily
I'm reminded of his tender mercies
I put on my helmet of salvation and the battle already won
the victory leaves a sweet taste on my tongue
when mi inna the Den
